The Science of Spray Tan

Who's for a science lesson❓❓❓

Here's how sunless tanning works...

The Stratum Corneum AKA the horney layer (I had to add that little fact), is the outermost layer of the Epidermis, consisting of dead skin cells.

▪️It is the Stratum Corneum that is affected by sunless tanning products. The active ingredient in sunless tanning known as DHA (dihydroxyacetone) creates a healthy glow by chemically reacting with the amino acids in this dead layer.

The tan can last up to 7 day and will then start to come off, as your top layer of skin starts to shed.
